There are so many birthing options out there now for women… I think it is wonderful! Unassisted childbirth is another method that more and more women are using lately. Laura Kaplan Shanley’s latest book “Unassisted Childbirth” highlights some of the positives of this method. She points out that since she did not live in poverty, she did not choose to invite medical professionals to her births, and had worked with herself to eliminate fear and other potentially destructive emotions- she and her ex-husband delivered four healthy babies (her ex-husband one, she delivered three others by herself)- amazing! I don’t know why it’s such a taboo to talk about the spiritual side of childbirth. Our society just seems so far removed from anything bigger than them. Things are getting so far lost in the opposite direction. The medical system has come in with their soaring c-section rates and managed to fool society into believing that birth is a technological emergency and not the sacred event that it truly is. But there will come a time when it has gone so far in the wrong direction that women will wake up and begin to see that it’s all a lie, and then we will reclaim our truths, and realize the importance of bringing our children into the world with the love, respect and honor that they rightfully deserve.

Absolutely! It is strange how we hold back on sharing our spiritual truths because of fear. I’m the first one in my family planning a natural birth and people think I’m crazy or I won’t be able to go through it. I totally believe a new batch of souls are coming through and it is our responsibility to birth them through love not fear. I found your birth video on youtube prior to my pregnancy. I believe I was meant to find you for the purpose of spiritual birthing. There aren’t a lot of us out there that see birth in the spiritual importance that it is, or maybe they too are afraid of the reaction of others. I love the way you put it that birth is the ultimate meditation! That’s a great way that I’m going to go into it. I do need to continue to work on releasing my untruths and fears so they don’t come up during birth. Thank you so much for posting this April!

What a beautiful and spirituel vision/meeting with your guides/the Source, I so get it! Thank you for sharing! Since I was a child I knew I wanted to/had to help souls incarnate on Earth. As a young adult I reconnected with this deep knowing and in a meditation I “saw” that in the afterlife/when not in body, my “job” is to help souls prepare for the journey to life. Today I am a midwife and I love the space/vibration/energy at birth more than anything! My own waterbirth at home was a magical, deeply spiritual and orgasmic experience. As a birthing woman we are the channel between two worlds and we have the posibility to clear ourselves of all the “noise” on that channel, so that LIFE can flow freely.
